Rodney Wills WAS a Pastor at North Carolina's Mt Salem Baptist Church. The 26 year old was the youngest pastor but last Saturday,
Mt. Salem voted him out for attending a local Rick Ross concert.
The final vote was 11 to 3 that they didn't need his services anymore.
And how did they let him know he was no longer needed?
They removed his parking sign & removed his name from the
office door and simply left them for him to find (or not find)
as he arrived for Sunday morning service. RUDE!
According to the Deacon, nine months ago they met with the
young Rev. Wills when word was given to them that many youth &
young adults spotted the pastor at a Lil Wayne concert.
SO WHAT?? THIS IS SOOOOO RIDICULOUS !!
- First of all, I give this pastor TONS of credit for going
outside of the church's walls & experiencing real life.
- He's a VERY young pastor, putting him in the unique position
to be able to connect/relate easily with teens & young adults.
- While Rick Ross & Lil Wayne are less than ideal role models,
there was nothing illegal or immoral about the pastor's
attendance of this concert. If anything, those fans attending
are probably ideal candidates to hear the message he brings.
- The committee members that voted him OUT are SPINELESS!
These are most likely the same people who voted him IN &
when they did, they knew they were taking on the YOUNGEST
pastor ever in the churches history - support & stand by him!
- CHURCH FAIL: By cutting ALL ties with this young pastor, the
church itself simply looks irresponsible & foolish since THEY
were the ones who brought him on board to begin with.
- I could go on and on - bottom line -
this church should be ashamed of it's decision.
